
The Scott County Community School District #1 Educational Foundation is a nonprofit organization that has been created to "support efforts which will complement, enhance and enrich educational programs and opportunities in the Scott County Community School District No. 1." The Foundation operates independently of the School District and is governed by a volunteer board of alumni, parents, and community and business leaders. The current Board of Directors includes: Tom Coultas, Merrilyn Fedder, Kevin Heitz, Bill Jacquot, Sara Johnson, Ruth Powell and Ken Shivers. The Superintendent of the school district (Rich James) and the President of the school board (Bob Schafer) are nonvoting advisory members of the Foundation board. Tax deductible donatins to the SCCSD #1 Foundation may be made as a one-time gift, or over a period of years, and gifts may be given "In Honor Of" or "In Memory Of" family or friends. Accounts have been opened at First Bank, First State Bank of Winchester, and Winchester Banking Center, all located in Winchester.
